Submission Guidelines
The International Journal of Historical Cartography and Regional Studies (IJHCRS) is open to receiving research manuscripts that are original and of good quality by scholars, researchers, and academicians all over the globe. It is advisable that authors observe the submission requirements keenly so as to have a smooth review and publication process.
Any manuscripts sent to the journal should contain original work and cannot be published or under consideration for publication by other journals. The submissions must be in accordance with the aims and scope of the journal, especially in topics that touch on historical cartography, regional studies, historical geography, and spatial analysis.
Manuscript Preparation
Authors should prepare their manuscript in accordance with the following general requirements:
- The manuscript must be written in clear and concise English.
- The title of the paper should be informative and relevant to the research topic.
- Where applicable, the manuscript must include the following sections:
- Title of the Article
- Author Name(s) and Institutional Affiliation(s)
- Abstract (150–250 words)
- Keywords (4–6 keywords)
- Introduction
- Literature Review
- Methodology / Research Approach
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
Formatting Requirements
Authors must use the following format to ensure consistency and academic presentation:
- Papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
- Times New Roman font, 12-point size, with 1.5 line spacing.
- All pages must be appropriately numbered.
- Tables, maps, and figures must be clearly labelled and referenced within the text.
- References must follow an established academic citation style.

The International Journal of Historical Cartography and Regional Studies accepts the following types of scholarly submissions:

Submission Process
Authors may submit their manuscripts either through the online journal submission system or via the official journal email. Once submitted, manuscripts will be evaluated through a preliminary editorial review and then assessed by peer reviewers to determine the quality, novelty, and importance of the study.
Important Notes for Authors
- The manuscript submitted must be free from any form of plagiarism.
- All references must be cited accurately by the authors.
